Student Travel Information

Please review the following essential information regarding student transportation for the academic year.

School-Provided Transportation

Sherman Indian High School is committed to supporting student travel needs at key times throughout the academic year. We offer transportation services for the following occasions:

  • Initial Enrollment: Transportation to the campus at the beginning of the fall or spring semester.
  • Winter Break: Transportation home for the winter break.
  • Return from Winter Break: Transportation back to campus after the winter break.
  • End of Academic Year: Transportation home at the end of the academic year.

Note: Sherman Indian High School does not provide a spring break, so no transportation services are available for this period.

Authorized Travel Locations

Parents and guardians are required to make travel arrangements from the following designated locations only:

  • Ontario Airport
  • San Bernardino Greyhound Station
  • Riverside Amtrak Train Station

These locations are the only points where Sherman Indian High School will provide transportation services.

No transportation services are available to or from the following locations:

  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • John Wayne/Santa Ana/Orange County Airport
  • Los Angeles Union Station

Responsibilities and Restrictions 

Please be aware of the following important guidelines and responsibilities regarding student travel:

  • Sherman Indian High School is not responsible for funding transportation to or from the campus.
  • Luggage Requirements:
    • Charter Bus: Students may bring up to two pieces of luggage.
    • Airline: Sherman Indian High School will pay for one checked bag not to exceed 50 lbs. Students must label all luggage clearly.
    • Students are responsible for any additional baggage fees. Families must also arrange and pay for items shipped home that exceed the allowed limits.
  • Picture Identification: Students must bring a valid picture ID for public and charter transportation.
  • Travel Day Requirement: No student drop-offs to campus will be allowed prior to the designated Travel Day.

Upcoming Travel Requirement

Please be aware that starting in May 2025, a REAL ID will be required for all domestic airline travel. Families are encouraged to plan ahead to meet this requirement.
