Athletics Program
Sherman Indian High School is a proud member of the California Interscholastic Federation, Southern Section, Arrowhead League. The mission of the California Interscholastic Federation is to prepare student athletes to practice ethical behavior, including fair play, integrity and obedience to rules.
Philosophy
At Sherman, we believe education is more than academics it’s about developing curious minds, compassionate hearts, and resilient spirits. Our philosophy centers on fostering a safe, inclusive, and challenging environment where every student can discover their physical strengths, pursue their sports passions, and prepare for a lifetime of learning and leadership from the lessons learned in athletics.
Eligibility Requirements
Participation in school activities, including athletics, is a privilege that reflects our commitment to academic excellence and personal responsibility. Students must maintain good standing in behavior, grades, attendance, and meet all district and state guidelines to remain eligible for extracurricular programs.
Academic Progress Requirements
We expect our students to strive for consistent academic growth. To participate in sports or other extracurricular activities, students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate steady progress toward graduation requirements. Academic performance is reviewed at regular intervals, and on campus tutoring support resources are available for those needing assistance.
