Students preparing a meal

Culinary students at Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California, completed their final project for their culinary arts class by hosting a dinner for community members. “Bridging Generations: A Tribute Dinner for Our Native American Elders” brought together food and tradition and uplifted all attendees. The dinner was funded by a grant from the Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance and used locally sourced ingredients.

The students prepared the menu, which included rabbit pozole, prickly pear vinaigrette salad over fried polenta, shrimp ceviche, rabbit saddle with chocolate sauce, and frybread served over chocolate crumb streusel with mango-passionfruit ganache, fresh strawberries and mint.
